The benefits of international study are personal, 社会, and professional: Study abroad broadens perspectives and cultivates open-minded leaders. 寄宿家庭期间, students consider the experiences of people in their 首页 contexts, inspiring empathetic connections that promote a more tolerant and just society. And, future employers view the accompanying cultural competency as increasingly valuable.
- To be eligible to study abroad during the academic year, students must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Summer study abroad does not require a specific grade point average.
- Students must sign up for ‘出国留学 101’ through the Office of International Programs (OIP) and follow the instructions on scheduling a meeting for general advisement, 选择课程, meeting with an OIP advisor for the region the student is interested in studying, and applying by the designated deadlines.
- Within this same time frame, sophomores should schedule an appointment with 莫林雷蒙德, 副主任, 林奇学校 Office of Student Services, 剪秋罗属植物104, to review their academic plan. Students may schedule an appointment by stopping by 剪秋罗属植物104.
- Students should be ready to declare their majors and minors, if they have not already done so. Students may stop by 剪秋罗属植物104 to do this.
- Students are encouraged to save their general electives for abroad.
- Students may participate in a service learning opportunity or an international pre-practicum in many locations. It is highly encouraged that teacher education students participate in the international pre-practicum experience. It is a wonderful, enriching experience that cannot be duplicated. The 林奇学校 encourages teacher education students to participate in an international pre-practicum and take advantage of opportunities to explore different countries and cultures. Although students may not complete methods courses abroad, they gain valuable experience.
