的 curriculum for 神学 majors incorporates both structure and flexibility. 专业采取必要的组合, required courses and electives from within and outside the Department of 神学. 学生 outside of the College of Arts and Science can also major in 神学. 程序s are designed in consultation with the Director of 本科 Studies and the student's 神学 faculty advisor. 学生 majoring in theology 必须 choose between two tracks: the 神学专业 or 荣誉神学专业.

*2 courses/6 credits from another discipline (including the first major) may also count toward the Standard 神学 or Honors 神学 majors, provided that they have sufficient theological relevance as determined by the Director of 本科 Studies.

 

荣誉神学专业

的 荣誉神学专业 (36 hours) is designed for 神学 as a first major, especially for students with an interest in further study of theology or related fields. 既严谨又全面, it provides an integrated introduction to the discipline and a broad foundation for further study. With its comprehensive distribution requirements across all areas, it exposes students to the entire breadth of the theological discipline. 学分增加，论文可选, it is capacious enough for students to focus on a particular sub-discipline in which to pursue and demonstrate theological excellence.   1. Guidelines for 神学专业s Who Entered the University before AY2022-2023

In light of the changes to the honors theology major that take effect beginning in the Fall of 2022 and that the previous required courses (THEO3577 Conciliar Traditions and THEO3330 主要s Seminar) will no longer be offered, students who began the major before the Fall of 2022 should note the following guidance:

  1. 学生 who have completed neither THEO3577 Conciliar Traditions nor THEO3330 主要s Seminar will need to complete both THEO2001 Tradition and Traditions and THEO2002 Trajectories in Contemporary 神学 to complete the theology major for graduation.
  2. 学生 who have already completed both THEO3577 Conciliar Traditions and THEO3330 主要s Seminar will not need to complete either THEO2001 Tradition and Traditions or THEO2002 Trajectories in Contemporary 神学. Furthermore, such students may not enroll in THEO2001 for elective credit.
  3. 作为将军, 但是不完美, guideline for the purposes of theology major credit fulfillment, consider THEO3577 Conciliar Traditions ≈ THEO2001 Tradition and Traditions, and THEO3330 主要s Seminar ≈ THEO2002 Trajectories in Contemporary 神学. 因此:
